Karin & Brads day to Remeber!

Well, the big day has come and gone but will NEVER EVER be forgotten! It didnt exactly go as planned. It rained, and for an outdoor wedding and reception, you'd think that would be a disaster. And honestly, it was for a short while. It broke my heart to see Karin so beautiful and so sad on what was the best day of her life. Inside, I was a complete wreck! I tried very hard to stay strong for Karin and reassure her that it will still be okay all will be beautiful and she will still marry Brad which was the most important thing that day.

Well the cerimony ended up being in her parents family room with about 110 people crammed in the kitchen and around the family room. Instead of Karin walking down to Brad on yellow rose petals in her front yard, she walked, crying her happy tears through her kitchen! Definately, a day to remember! I cried through the entire cerimony!

The rain lightened up enough for everyone to sit down and enjoy Kinders BBQ! YUM! YUM! YUM! Even though it began to sprinkle rain a little, people just popped up their unbrellas and kept on eating! Then came time for my toast! OOOH! My voice cracked and I got choaked up, but managed to keep it together long enough spit something out that Im sure was pretty good!

I ended up having my cry for my best friend and her new husband the next day on the way to the Oakland airport for the second time that day to pick up my parents. Yes, I am a TOTAL cheese ball! It definately was a day I will never forget! Watching Karin dance with her daddy to What a Wonderful World in the rain! Makes me cry just typing it! Watching her in her first dance with her husband in the rain! It was really romantic! And the fact that nobody left and everyone started dancing in the rain! WOW!

Karin & Brad, may life always smile on you both! May you never go to bed angry or holding a grudge, ALWAYS talk, ALWAYS put one another and your marriage above anything else, dont loose the romance (no matter how badly it makes Mel wanna puke), keep honesty and truth in the front, and Brad remember, Karin is always right! I love you guys with all that I am!

NOT my day today

So, I ordered this cool gift for my Best Friend for her wedding. Paid EXTRA for 2nd day air, and whaddya know, its not here. UPS says they delivered it, but low and behold, its not here and I have to wait to talk to the merchant to find out what happened. What is the fuckin point of having a tracking number if when you give it to UPS, they just tell you to contact the merchant. Ok if your telling me you delivered it, and I dont have it, and the merchant sent it, wouldnt it then be UPS's problem for loosing the fuckin thing!

And yet again, my niece is lying to everyone. She "borrowed" her grandpas car. You see the problem is Grandpa doesnt let her use it unless it is an absolute emergency and she knows that, the other problem is, Grandpa is not here for her to ask. He is is South Carolina on vacation. So she takes his car then tells me that she will bring it back that night. Fine, Im pissed but shes bringing it back. Later that night around 9pm, shes still not here with the car. I have to be at work at 5am the next day and I NEED to get to bed. I call her and she says at first that she is in night school and will bring it after shes done. 1030pm and she is still not here, and no call. So, I call her again. She tells me that her Mom wont let her leave the house because she thinks shes gonna take the car out so she "has to keep it" I KNOW she lying but by this time it is after 11 and I have to drag my tired ass out of bed for work in 4 fuckin hours. I am REALLY pissed at this point but manage to sound very calm on the phone. Day 2 of the car heist, I call her at around 745am before school, on my way to a dentist appointment. I tell her to have the car back at the house this afternoon no acceptions and fill it with gas. I know she has found my secret stash of money and has helped herself because I was gonna dip into it and it was gone. She tells me oh Mom gave me a gas card I can fill it no problem. Great, Im thinking. I have work today, wedding stuff, and the car will be safe and sound back at home. Kayla has managed to piss off a few people in her time at high school (havent we all) and I get nervous about her having it at school. Teens these days have zero respect for personal property, especially really nice expensive Suburbans. I get home from my day around 700pm, no fuckin Suburban!

I have zero trust in Kayla now, and that is the saddest part about this story. Yes I am UNBELIEVABLY PISSED at her and she will definately get a talking to from Grandma and Grandpa not that she will listen. She seems to have no reguard for anyone except herself. Does what she wants when she wants and to hell with anyone else. On the same note though, she writes in school papers that her family doesnt trust her or believe in her and shes doing things just to prove us wrong. Well my dear when your pattern is lying, stealing & sneaking around that sort of breaks any trust you have built. When you go from a near 4.0 GPA in junior high, to nearly flunking out in high school and cutting just about every class, yeah out faith in you is pretty shaken. When we give you opportunity after opportunity to prove that your worthy of being trusted you do things like through a party while your mom is gone with boose, boys and all the trimmings, and I fuckin covered for you! What am I suppose to do? I love you in spite of your idot acts, but I do not trust you as far as I can throw you.

Brad & Karin's big day approacheth!

OMG!! In less than 2 weeks, my bestest friend in the entire world will marry the man of her dreams. That is so weird to see in print. I have a few things left to do still. I have to speak! It needs to be touching, a little witty, and without tears...........HA! HA! HA! I couldnt type that without laughing! I am going to cry the whole day pretty much. I need to find ultra mega water proof makeup! EEEEEEEE gads! I changed her name in my address book. I wrote Brad and Karin Herman and teared up! I am a big ball of goo and its all your fault Karin, but I love you for it!

FINALLY SUN!!!!!

Im so happy to see sunlight!! That means that the ground will start to dry up so Karins wedding wont be on gushy ground and none of the ladies wearing heals will sink! Vegas wasa blast! It was so good to spend some quality girl time with just Karin, myself, and Mel. I learned that I like dueling piano bars and that I still cant dance. So if your wondering if when you get older you may pick up some dancing vibes along the aging path of life, your wrong! Your either born with dancing abilities, or your not. I am not! Its okay though, I shake it every once in a while when I just cant help it! Posted by Picasa

Alterations or a custome made dress?

Well, this is the dress I will be wearing when I stand up for my very best friend at her wedding in one month and one day. Pretty aint it? As you can see, it needs to be altered. So this past Tuesday I went for the very first time to have it pinned and tucked and cinched in all the right places. I am happy to report that none of it is being let out! The skirt, is being taken in a good 4 inches (about 2 inches on each side). The bad news is, it is going to cost me $160!!!! The dress was purchased for $200 by my best friends parents. Generous to say the least! I was not expecting that but what a nice surprise! I have never had anything altered before in my life. Now, they do have todo a lot of tucking on the top. You can see that is big around the bottom, and at the neckline. What you cant see is how much the back gapes open at the top and that the skirt is a good 2 sizes to big. They told me they would not be able to trade the skirt because it was "a custome piece". Okay, I understand not returning it after alterations have been done, but they are the ones who measured me and ordered it. It is not my fault they ordered it so big. Makes a big girl feel great when they have to take it in, but on the flip side makes ya feel like a flippin whale when you see the size they order. So I am committed to this dress that is now pushing $400! It is going to look amazing and I do love it but I have never owned a piece of clothing so expensive! Makes me nervous! Posted by Picasa

Easter Sunday

Sorry, no pics today :) My easter was nice. I, of course, went to church first thing in the morning. Well 9am so not really first thing, but early enough. Let me rant here a bit (shocking I know) Just because the church service is held in a school gym does not give you and your bratty, snot nosed kids free range to run across the gym in their cloppy shoes screamimg! It is church after all! And OOOOH does it echo! I gave the parents several nasty looks and even a couple shushes, nothing! They thought it was cute. I could barely hear anything, and my father was the one preaching. SOOOOO ANNOYING!!!!! The kids not my Dad (love u pops!) Anyway, after church we got to see waht the Easter Bunny left us. He left me a $25 Starbucks gift card! Thank East Bunny! BOK! BOK! Then it was off to Aunt Janettes for dinner with the Hamilton clan and a few Simmons' ta boot. My cousin and his girlfriend brought their little beagle Daisy. She is soooo cute! I WANT A PUPPY! (Love you Rajah!) All in all not a bad day, and not even a snarky remark to me from my sister. Yeah I just about fell over too! Of course, I made an effort to say away from her. I hope the rest of you had a great Easter as well! TTFN!

I hope you had a fantabulous birthday! I cant wait to hear about it. This is one of the few pictures we took where we have normal faces! I watched Extreme Home Makeover tonight when I got home from work (it was TIVOd from Sunday). Guess who hosted it instead of Ti Pennington? Your favorite person, well amphibion, Kermit! It was cool! Happy Birthday K! I love you! Posted by Picasa

All grown up?

So her uncle acould not figure out what to get her for her 18th birthday. We kept telling him, money is her favorite thing. He thought it was too impersonal (I know weird that my brother said that) so I told him to try and find one of those balloon gift places and viola! Can you tell she loves it? Posted by Picasa

My First Pearls :o)

Well, I thought since I was going 50's era with the rehearsal dress, I figured that I would go whole hog and get some pearls to go with it. Its blurry but its a set of pink cultured pearls (necklace, bracelette, & stud earrings). The shade of pink is a perfect match for the dress. Im excited! Posted by Picasa

Happy Lil Post

Okay so yesterdays post was a little..........you know icky. So today I thought Id choose something that makes me smile a lot, that of course is ANYTHING Disney. Im sure Disney will hunt me down for using one of their images, but oh well. I love this part of Dumbo because he is soooooo carefree. Nothin better than a bubble bath right? When I was in Vegas last month I got to take a bath with bubbles up to my neck and water that covered EVERYTHING! It was SOOOO coool! I had it so hot that when I got out I was all red, like my old college roommate Melissa. I dont ever recall having a bath that felt that good! When I am finally able to get my own place, it will DEFINATELY have a tub large enough for meto do the Dumbo Dunk in! Posted by Picasa

Happy 18th Birthday Kayla!

I cannot believe it! My little Kayla is 18 years old. It seems like just yesterday she was swimming naked in a kiddie pool in the front yard. She is so desperate to get out of her mothers house, she actually asked me if I would share an apartment with her. I didnt really know if I should take it as a compliment or not, so I did :). I guess Im cooler than I thought in their eyes, maybe. I told her thank you but no. I can't switch from Aunt to roommate. I wouldnt be able to resist trying to protect her from potential mistakes. Shes an adult now. She needs to make mistakes in order to grow into the woman that Ive always known she can be. Happy Birthday Sparkey!

In other words.................have I mentioned that I cant stand my sister. One of her more adoring attributes is her inability to see me without criticizing me. I haveant seen her or talked to her in over a month. Today she comes over to my parents house to partake in Kayla's birthday dinner and makes some side-mouthed comment about me and how I always hold a grudge. Well sister dear, the only people I hold a grudge agaist are the ones who are a CONSTANT and PERSISTANT thorn in my side. When someone who is supposed to love you unconditionaly holds you responsible for distroying "the best thing that ever happened to me", and also pressures you to date one of your friends who then dumps me because I wont fuck him, yeah, Im gonna hold a grudge. When the person puts her own children's last on her list of priorities even below her friends, yes Im going to hold a grudge! When a person calls me and my mother fat pigs, fat slobs, bitches, IN FRONT OF MY NIECES and doesnt defend either of us...............You bet your fucking ass Im gonna hold a grudge!

I really need to move. I dont know where, and I dont know how, but I NEED to leave. I think Im stuck. SHIT! I desperately want to move down south somewhere. At least there there is one person who wants me around, she knows who she is. I can loose myself in the mass of people. In time I guess. Knowing my luck though, as soon as I can swing the move, that one person will move up north to raise her family like shes always wanted. SHIT! Just once, Id like something to go the way I want it to.

Kayla is turning 18 in 3 days! OMG!!!!! I was in Old Navy getting her a bathing suit and 2 matching pairs of thongs (flip flops for you young-uns) and I stumbled across an ivory knit bolero/bolaero (neither spelling looks right to me so you pick your favorite) for $14! I buy it praying it will look good with my sparkly green tank top I got for one of the wedding events. I love the way it looks with the tank and my jeans or I can pair it with my khaki chinos (LOVE Avenue pants!) Do you like it closed or open? It has a little hook-n-eye closure. I like it open. The bottom 2 pics are hopefully a little more detailed shots of the tank top that I will be wearing to the Wine Train on the Friday b-4 the big event. I layed it on an ivory comforter to give you a better idea of the color and so hopefully you can see the silver detailing better as well.

Decisions, Decisions.......Wedding clothes shopping #2

This tank top is from Torrid. Its a really pretty green sparkly top and I love it! I plan to wear this to the breakfast gift thing on Monday. Here is my dilema, what do I wear it with? Jeans and my denim bolaero? Alone with jeans? A denim skirt and my denim bolaero? Do I look for an Ivory or white crop sweater/jacket thing and matching chino type pants? HELP! Posted by Picasa

Success........mostly

Alright, so shopping for wedding event clothes wasnt toooo bad. There are a few companies (TORRID! Lane Bryant) who actually realize that us fat chicks like good looking trendy clothes too. Picture #1 is the dress Im wearing to the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner. Its from Torrid, black with small white polka dots and pink satin accents, its a sort of 50's-ish style. Pciture #2 is the same dress with my black knit bolaero, I put both pics up for you to vote on. I like #2 for obvious reasons. I plan to get a string of pink pearls and hope to find some black strappy heals with pink accesnts. Picture #3 is for the Wine Train on Friday. Its a purple tank top from Lane Bryant. It has virticle silver metalic accents and Im wearing my black velvet bolaero with it. I plan to wear either black gouchos or a black skirt of some kind.

Why?

Okay, WHY do cats and dogs drink out of the toilet? You give them clean water in a clean bowl on the floor that is a tad bit easier to reach not to mention safer (no threat of fallin in it if its on the floor). YET..............my child chooses to S-T-R-E-T-C-H into the toilet and drink out of it. Its funny to watch him cause his back feel slip on the tile all the time and hes constantly readjusting them while drinking. Im going shopping for wedding clothes tomorrow..................wish me luck! Posted by Picasa

More Vegas!

I thought I would share a couple more Vegas moments with you. The first picture are the desserts we got from Paris on our last night. We had a girls night in and played Sex in the City Trivia ( I lost.....I know HUGE shock, i suck at all games that have nothing to do with Disney) drank Schmirnoff Apple Vodka with cranberry juice YUM, and ate those delectable desserts! Picture #2 is the menue at The Tequila Bar where we spent our first evening drinking, eating chips & salsa and listening to the lounge singer who was actually good! Picture #3 is from the top of the Eifle Tower. If you havent been up there, you need to. It costs $9 to go up and they take your picture before you go up the ellilater to the top ( the picture, of course, will cost you extra but its nice to have one of the entire group). Once up there, you can see the fountains of Bellagio the way they were meant to be seen! There is no time limit for you either so if you cant see one show, wait for the the next and get a good viewing spot. They have holes cut out of the wire fencing so you can take good pictures, like the one I got!

A soothing moment on the way home

So I was on my home from a rough day work today, with me is my youngest niece Ris. Apparently her and my sister got into a knock out drag out physical altercation and my sister in her mature way, dropped Marissa off at my parents house because she " just couldnt deal with her". Ris is telling me her side of the story and while Im trying to be sympathetic to her, my mind is completely not there. I feel guilty, but what can I do. Im listening to her but really wishing I was able to transport myself somewhere far far away. Another friend of mine interviewed for a teaching job in the Clark County School district in Nevada (Vegas area). She offered me the opportunity to be her roommate if she was hired. Not the most desireable place to live, but it would be a definate change. I NEED a change of scenery. Im so sick of seeing the same stuff. As Im thinking this, I look out my mindow and see a beautiful rainbow. Im so captivated by it I grab my cell phone and snap 2 pics of it. I like this one the best. Makes me dream. I like it. Posted by Picasa
