First day back blues

I hate the first day back at work after a wonderful vacation. It just bites all around. Princess didnt day two words to me until late in the day. Well, I didnt loose any lunch hour napping time over that :) I wanted to share some pictures with you all.

Here is me on Splash Mountain at Disney World. As you can see, I hated the ride :)

This is my favorite time of year in the valley of the grapes. Its mustard flower season. Mustard flowers blanket the beds of the vineyards. They are just in the begining stages but very soon there will be bright yellow mustard flowers against a lush green bed of grass. This is for you Momma K!

Here is a close up of the lil beauties! The rainbow was spotted on the way home as I was chatting with Momma K on my phone! It was so pretty I had to pull over and snap a picture! Thank goodness I had my digital camera with me! The picture does not do justice to it though! It was by far the BRIGHTEST rainbow that I have ever seen!

Back from Mecca!

Im finally back! Did you miss me? ..................Oh come on humor me and say yes you missed me GOBS! TONS even. Disney World was everything I dreamed it would be and more! Ive been asked what the high point of the trip was. I cannot pick out just one thing. One of the perks was being forced to sit up in FIRST CLASS on the way to Florida! Yes we got bumped up!!! Oh yeah!!!! The best part of that? Its difficult to choose betweent he warm towels for my face, the fresh fruit and juices and the comfy leather seats. Since I have to pick one, it definately was the PLETHORA of leg and elbow room I had!! Here you should find my Picasa Web album of my Disney World pictures, beware, there are 185 pictures! Some, uh not so good, but it gives you an idea of the FUN we had. My travel partner is Cynthia, I used to work with her. She got pretty sick on the trip. Struck with food poison on day 3 and a nasty chest cold on days 6-9. Sucked to be her. I got a cold the first 3 days. Pretty bad but it lightened up and I could still do stuff. Hers was so bad it knocked her out of commission completely for 2 days. BUMMER! I still had fun though. I actually went to Magic Kingdom by myself, ate dinner at a fancy restaurant by myself! It was weird at first I felt like the biggest looser in the western hemisphere, then it was kind of empowering. I called Momma K for a little pep talk before going into the nice restaurant all alone! All in all, it was a FANTASTIC experience and I cant WAIT until little Zy is 7 years old, so I can take her/him to mecca with Momma K!

Holy cow a year!

I really did not expect to be doing this for an entire year. I really thought I would get bored with it and just stop. There is definately something......therapudic about writing your thoughts for nobody and everybody to see. I have met some realyl cool people who have enhanced my life and I thank you. In celebration of my 1 year anniversary, I have posted my favorite man in his favorite pose.

In other news, K has added a 3rd tat to her collection. This one is about 10 inches high and on her right side. What I like about this tat, is it is a memorial tat for a dear family friend who passed waaaaaaaaaay before her time. She was 5 and her name was Jennifer. She had a bad kidney and went in for an operation and never came out due to negligence. (yes there was a lawsuit, yes the good guys won) My nieces were friends with Jennifer and her sister from the time they were about 2. It broke my heart that they had to deal with such a sensless tragic event at such a tender age. You may notice that the stem of the rose is in the shape of a J. Jennifer had 2 favorite things in her short life the color purple and butterflies. K plans to go back and have the butterfly colored in purple. She is not sure what she will do with the rest of it.

Ya know, when I was K's age, I desperately wanted a tatoo but I wanted one that really summed up who I was. Well who the hell knows who they are at 20. I knew what I liked, but not a whole lot more. Then I saw my Grandma and thought about what a tatoo would look like on 92 year old skin and just about lost my lunch! That was the end of my tatoo desire. Posted by Picasa

Krappy Camera phone!

So there I was minding my own beez wax waiting in the lazy man's lunch line (aka: Fast food drive thru) and Im admiring the HUGE black hemi before me when I noticed that it was a special edition hemi. You cant see what it says cause my krappy ass camera phone has no zoom and I was without my good digital camera. This particular dream truck not only has a hemi, but it the extra special Blo-Me Special Edition! If I could have given this guy a high five thru my windshield, I certainly would have! He had to settle for a thumbs up when he noticed me snappin a pic of his blo-Me truck!

I had an adventure at the grocery store today. I was just doing the hum drum dinner shopping. Now keep in mind that my neighborhood grocery store is a major chain, Safeway, and I love it. It has been there about 5 years or so, still very new in the grand scheme if buildings. They are already doing a major remodle. Irritation has set in. I go about getting my produce & meat and head up to the check outs expecting to have to wait for 3 hours as usual. To my surprise, there is a checker, no line, just waiting for lil ol me! SWEET! I grab my small bag of lil golden spuds and sort of toss them onto the conveyer belt and they bust out of the bag and go rolling down the conveyer belt all by themselves! I start bustin up while the checker is frantically scoping up my spuds trying to prevent them from rolling onto the floor! That makes me laugh even harder and he starts to laugh too! I actually held up the line because we were laughing so hard. The courtesy clerk starts to bag my groceries and she says to me "Uh Oh your little potatoes have escaped!" I told her yeah I noticed that when they all started running down your conveyer belt! Good times at the grocery store today.

Arent you glad you stopped by and took time to read about my grocery store adventure! WAKE UP! Posted by Picasa

11 Days & who cares how many hours!

Eleven days! Thats right 11 days!!! Eleven days until I go to Disney World! I am sooooooooooo EXCITED!!! I will be in my Happy place for 9 days!! I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!

In other news LOL.........like I have that much going on. I have found the bitch of my new office. I call her princess, because that is who she acts like. Well I finally started my training this week. Yes one month after I started but hey better late than never right. Anyway, my training officer comes to me and say "Oh your manager called, you have to go to your branch tomorrow @ 330 I guess they need you" What the F?? I have not been trained, people in my office are shot with me and when I FINALLY go to training.........they want me to cut it short??? I was about to call my manager and give them what for. I picked up my cell phone to make the call and noticed I had 2 voice mails from her. The first one tells me about the whole comming back thing beacuse they are "short handed", the 2nd voice mail they tell me that oh Princess has agreed to come in late for the 2nd week so you can stay at training. Like it was some huge F'n sacrafice for Princess to work until 610pm 2 weeks in a row. They were going to cut my necessary training because princess didnt want to work "late". What a blankity blank! Well anyway, princess is loosing her gusto. She has met her match. After vacation, my gloves come off. I will not let a prissy lil 22 yr old know-it-all talk to me like I have let her. I have let her get away with it because I am the new girl in the branch but now I dont give a hoot. She will not know what hit her. Posted by Picasa

A gift card shopping spree

So today I got to go see a good friend of mine who I havent seen in a couple months. We got to go shopping...and by we I mean me. She tried on all kinds of stuff, and bought nothing. I had $100 in gift cards to spend and they were burnin' a hole in my pocket. I got 2 shirts, 9 pairs of socks that whisk the moisture away from your feet (aka:SWEAT!) to use in Disney World, and super cute PJ's! The pants are way girly and have nail polish bottles, lip sticks and eye liners all over them.

I was stuck with the stomach flu on friday BIG TIME! In fact everyone in my house was hit with it! We only have one bathroom and as my brother so politely put it we had THE NIGHT OF 1000 FLUSHES! We were all sittin and spittin for a good day and a half! Some of our extended family are even sick! Needless to say the tummy flu is runnin wild here! I was so proud of myself today I did a solid poo poo!!! WOOHOOO! Posted by Picasa

Wedding Day Bliss?

Last weekend I was a witness to my little cousin (little C is now in his mid 20's) marry his long time girlfriend J. No its not short for anything its just J. This was probably the most no frills wedding day I have ever been to. The cerimony was in a tiny church, the reception was next door in a tiny church hall with little to no decorations of any kind. Your typical white linens, white plates, and for center pieces, cookie bouquets. No fuss, no muss, and nearly no first dance. They were pressured into it by my other cousin big I. They danced for all of 30 seconds before they quickly parted. I dont recall seeing the bride smile or laugh too much either. That struck me as odd, but whatever. My best friend, when everything that could possible go wrong did go wrong, still managed to have the best day of her life, laughed, danced, partied to the wee hours of 10pm (beacuse after that the fuzz woulda showed up......again) isnt that what a wedding day is about? Joy? I honestly didnt see true joy, but maybe they are the type to sort of burry their joy? I dont know. But I do know that I managed to capture the picture of the day! Posted by Picasa

A private concert!

If I have not shared it with you yet, my mother is from Scotland. She was born and raised in Ayr and moved to America when she was 17. Her brother Bill and his wife Iris are here visiting for the holidays and for my cousins wedding on January 6th. A couple days ago they were in our neck of the woods touring wineries etc. Aunt Iris is a professional Bagpipe player. She was in competitive pip bands for years and now she teaches others how to play and march, etc. The 2nd picture is Aunt Iris trying to teach my Dad how to get a set of pipes going (not an easy task!)We were luck enough to get a PRIVATE CONCERT in the middle of our living room (and the neighbors didnt even complain!) I hope the link for yooo toooob worked! Enjoy! Posted by Picasa

Happy New Year!

Wow! I can't believe its 2007! What is there to remember about 2006? Too many to list here but I have included some pictures that represent the most memorable moments that happened to me in 2006 (well at least the ones that I can remember right now). The first pic is for me taking a trip to a place that I have wanted to go to for as long as I can remember! Disney World! What Im most proud of about going is that I didnt go elcheapo. Ive always said that when I go to Disney World, I was going to stay in a nice hotel and I was going for AT LEAST and entire week. Well, I'm going for 9 days and staying at one of Disneys Deluxe Resorts. My next WDW trip will hopefully be with a certain BESTEST FRIEND in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD, but sssshhhhh! I have not pitched it to her yet!

The next 2 pics are 2 of my favorites out of the 1000+ pictures taken on the best day of 2006! That would be May 21, 2006, the day that my Best Friend became the wife of Mr. B! A man who is so perfect for Karin. And I gotta admit, it took me a while to fully see how great he really is not only to Karin but to people in general. I feel sort of like Karins big sister, the guard dog, Nobody was going to be good enough for her. Until Mr. B came along. Anybody that has the golf balls to ask a girl for her number in the most crowded restaurant at Disneyland in front of all the other workers and patrons, may be worth marrying.

The last picture is in memory of the DENTIST FROM HELL Trancas Dental of Napa, CA. They are the poster people of how NOT to treat a fearfull patient, how to RIP OFF people who just had 5 shots jammed into their already painfull mouth, and how to be complete and total JACKASSES!!! That experience taught me #1) Take better care of my mouth so I dont have to EVER GO BACK TO A DENTIST and #2) If you feel like you have been ripped of by a dentist, complain to your insurance company and get your money back! And make sure you call the DENTIST FROM HELL and tell them they suck donkey balls!

A resolution for 2007? No way! I only make promises that I KNOW I will keep! Id like to get into better shape and maybe I will try to do that. I will try to go visit my best friend and her hubby more this year. I will try to be a better person all around. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and I wish you all nothing but the BEST that 2007 has to offer! Posted by Picasa

Images of Christmas

I absolutly could not choose which pictures to post, so I picked these. No real reason, but Im gonna show you more another day. Christmas day was great. We had 25 people over for dinner. Let me tell ya, if you have ever had a sit down dinner for 25 people in a 975 sq ft house, you may understand some of the challenges we faced. My Uncle Bill from England and his wife were here. I have not seen them since I was 8 so it was wonderful! Let me explain the pics, #1 is some decoration I have on my wall. Its Santas clothes on a clothesline, and below it is the bommerang my Uncle George brought back from Austrailia for me. Pic #2 is Turkey #1 that my Daddy did on the BBQ roticery. It was YUM YUM YUMMY! I love California! Pic #3 is the fire in the backyard that we all gathered around to listen to my cousin play my Dads new guitar, and pic #4 is one of the bows I tied as decoration around work. Thats all for now, its late but I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Christmas Shopping in the BIG CITY

Saturday, I went Christmas shopping in San Francisco with a couple of friends. We took the Ferry across the bay and hopped onto BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit, sort of like a subway system) and went to Nordstrom, Bloomingdales (my FIRST TIME EVER in there!) and a few other stores. It was SOOOOO COOOOLD but fun! Im pretty sure that you've all heard of Bloomingdales. I have NEVER held a purse that cost $1000! WOW! It was fun! My friend bought me a little purse at Bloomingdales its pink with sunglasses and shoes on it. It was only like $20 but now I get to say, I have a purse from Bloomingdales! The first pic is a guy that we spotted on the Ferry on the way back. We thought it was really funny because the ferry was pretty packed and the table next to him was full of middle aged women desperately clinging to their youth by playing quarters and enhancing their already drunken state with children present. *****cough****LOOSERS****cough**** The last pic is me and my Disney World companion. We are waiting for the ferry and decided to have THE BEST COFFEE ANYWHERE! If you dont have a Peets Coffee in your neighboorhood, Im REALLY SORRY. It was a good day. This comming up Saturday will be even better because my bestest friend in the whole big wide world will be in town for the holiday! WOOOHOOOO! I wish I could see her every week. Who knows, maybe God will like a little bit and drop my dream job in my lap that will "force" me to move down to her. Boy that would be just horrible, NOT! N E Way, thats all for now! TTFN! Posted by Picasa

My home town

So every day when I drive to work, I get to pass some pretty amazing sites. My commute to work takes me about 45 minutes. I dont mind because this are the things I see. The last picture is beyond my office, but its my favorite place in the valley. It is the historic Berringer Winery Rhine House, it is over 125 years old. Thats all I have today. I just wanted to share some beauty with you all! By the way, these pics were takes with my new digital camera!

My new Job

If I have not shared thenews with you, I am sorry. I have found a new job. I am a banker at an up Valley bank. Honestly, when I took the job I was not thrilled. Ive done banking before and hated it so much, I quit after just over a month. Why on earth would i take yet another banking job then? Well the pay is pretty good, not fantastic great, but good. And, I was so ready to leave my other job, I was thrilled to just get something with "regular" hours and better pay. Because its up Valley, it is closed on Saturdays. Very cool! I get weekends off! I sleep in until 630 or 7ooam! My old job, I was up at 4am! Sometimes I was working until 4am and beyond. I was at work ALL THE TIME! This job will allow me to seek out some sort of life!

I have just completed my first week at the new job. I went into it with EXTREMELY LOW expectations. The last bank I was in was horrid! The job was boring, and the people I worked with were complete assholes! The people at this place are actually nice. They have that thing, uhm, whats it called, oh A SENSE OF HUMOR! I hope this will be a job that I can make a somewhat peacefull living out of.

Joke I found for you all, enjoy!
Tickle Me ElmoThere is a factory in Northern Minnesota which makes the Tickle Me Elmo toys. The toy laughs when you tickle it under the arms.Well, Lena is hired at The Tickle Me Elmo factory and she reports for her first day promptly at 8:00 AMThe next day at 8:45 AM there is a knock at the Personnel Manager's door. The Foreman throws open the door and begins to rant about the new employee. He complains that she is incredibly slow and the whole line is backing up, putting the entire production line behind schedule. The Personnel Manager decides he should see this for himself, so the 2 men march down to the factory floor. When they get there the line is so backed up that there are Tickle Me Elmo's all over the factory floor and they're really beginning to pile up.At the end of the line stands Lena surrounded by mountains of Tickle Me Elmo's.She has a roll of plush red fabric and a huge bag of small marbles. The 2 men watch in amazement as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles and begins to carefully sew the little package between Elmo's legs. The Personnel Manager bursts into laughter. After several minutes of hysterics he pulls himself together and approaches Lena "I'm sorry," he says to her, barely able to keep a straight face,"but I think you misunderstood the instructions I gave you yesterday...""Your job is to give Elmo two test tickles. Not 2 Testicles
